Inclusion Facilitator (K-12)

Inclusion Facilitators will provide a variety of services to facilitate change. Inclusion Facilitators will provide individualized school-based support, provide presentations and coaching around best practices in inclusive education with a focus on co-teaching, UDL, modification and accommodation, and differentiation. Facilitators design and conduct workshops, facilitate small groups in planning and problem-solving, coach individuals and school teams, and develop a variety of learning options to accommodate a variety of adult learner needs.

Facilitators need to be knowledgeable of best practices in inclusive education and be able to demonstrate these practices to others. Facilitators must be able develop and conduct adult education sessions; empower others to use tools to plan for students who present the most challenges to participation in general education classes, demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills for product and task production, and instructional technology.

Skills Required

Facilitators need to be knowledgeable of best practices in inclusive education and be able to demonstrate these practices to others. Facilitators must be able to develop and conduct adult education sessions; empower others to use tools to plan for students who present the most challenges to participation in general education classes, demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills for product and task production, and instructional technology.

This position requires a graduate degree (terminal degree preferred) in Special Education or a related field; experience working in or with schools and school staff; and a commitment to inclusive education for students with disabilities.

Experience in the following is helpful:

• Collaborative models of support;

• Supporting students with mild, moderate, or complex disabilities;

• Providing consultation, support, and follow-up to school teams;

• Application of Universal Design for Learning;

• Practical knowledge of Differentiation strategies;

• Knowledge of operationalizing modifications and accommodations;

• Knowledge of implementation science;

• Conducting formal in-service training sessions and group presentations; and,

• Knowledge and experience with MTSS/RTI/PBIS highly desired

Primary Responsibilities

Professional Learning and Technical Assistance, Group/team facilitation, Relationship-building, Organizational Support, and other duties as assigned.
